Blogger Interview # 101 : Ananya

Blogger Interview # 101 : Ananya

Q1: Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?

A1: Life's always been a roller coaster ride. Well there is so much to tell and so little time.I live in and around Seattle, WA with my roots from South India. I am  an Engineer by education, was an Assistant Professor by profession, now a Blogger by choice and telling stories is my passion. I strongly believe  that we can bring a positive change in the world through the stories we tell. I love connecting people, issues, and ideas together to create new opportunities.

My blog Ananya Tales is about my little adventures, my failures, my success, my insecurities,  my achievements.. in short tales of past, present and thoughts on future.

Q2: When did you start blogging and Why?

A2: A lot of people assume that women of a certain age who are not unattractive have no excuse for not having a perfect life. But you can have emotional baggage that is dragging you down like cement blocks tied to your feet. It was time to free my feet, or at least try by writing about it, hence started my journey as a Blogger on 28th Jan 2014.  I had a story to tell and I didn't want to take mine to the grave. So better late than never.

Q3: What do you consider as your blog achievements ?

A3: Well, in my short journey as a Blogger I have received few blog awards but What I consider my biggest achievement is the response of the readers. The fact that readers appreciate and communicate, open their lives when they are commenting on my blog makes me feel worthwhile.

Q4: If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?

A4: I really cannot advice about it because I am still learning to do it right. But from my experience I can tell 'Blogging' is not just Fun, however easy it might seem at the first glance, but  its not. The only easy part is to start a blog, but from then onwards its quite a task. So you need to be really passionate about what you are writing. Just Be your self when you write, don't over think or analyze. Join blogger communities and groups, stay active, read, interact and comment on other blogs.

Most important don't write for an audience, write for your self !

Q5: What are your favorite blogs to read?

A5: Honestly, I love Blog Hopping. There so so millions of great blogs out there, I like variety. So I really love visiting new blogs daily, I read around 20 to 40 blogs a day. So I have new favorites each day.

Q6: What are your thoughts on writing a Book?

A6: Well, Writing a book is something I want to do from a long long time. Its a dream, I will soon start working on making it a reality.
At the end, I want to thank you for this interview I really enjoyed answering all your questions and I hope readers too feel the same !

Book Review: "The Fault in our Stars" by John Green

A love story of 16 year old girl Hazel Grace with a 17 year old boy Augustus Waters . Both of them have cancer whereby Hazel has thyroid cancer that has spread to her lungs while Augustus had osteosarcoma, but he is now cancer-free after having his leg amputated. Hazel uses a portable oxygen tank to help her breathe while Augustus wears a prosthetic. Their first meeting is in a cancer support group.
I like both the protagonist Hazel and Augustus Waters. Hazel is so understanding girl and she is so worried about her mom and dad. She kept telling them to enjoy their lifes and don't focus so much time on her.
After the first part , Augustus Waters become the star. His love becomes the remarkable turning point in the book. I felt the characters are so real to me. When I finished the first chapter, I don't have a hope to continue reading however after reading the second chapter, I became more interested and start reading the remaining parts of the story. After Augustus falling in love it was going smoothly until John green had to put a twist in the story whereby it was in a different league totally and I think that's the highlight of this story. Some parts of the story are so touching and it melts our heart and soul. I felt the writing style is little tough , still we can enjoy to the fullest.
This book will liked by readers who keep little romance on their hearts.Lots of lovely memorable quotes in this book , that struck in our minds. A few of the quotes given below which makes me wonder how beautiful a language can be used for.
“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.” “Much of my life had been devoted to trying not to cry in front of people who loved me, so I knew what Augustus was doing. You clench your teeth. You look up. You tell yourself that if they see you cry, it will hurt them, and you will be nothing but a Sadness in their lives, and you must not become a mere sadness, so you will not cry, and you say all of this to yourself while looking up at the ceiling, and then you swallow even though your throat does not want to close and you look at the person who loves you and smile.” “As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.” “I'm in love with you," he said quietly.
"Augustus," I said.
"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
Hope everyone will enjoy the same way I enjoyed the book. Happy reading..

Blog : http://www.sapnageorge.com/

·    Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?

You could say I  am  full time  writer than  blogger .Yet my quench to write, rather the  inclination to write must have  been there  within me, of which  I have a factual proof now from the forgone past .An aunt of mine "Leelamma J Enniriyil"have written a book  in Malayalam (regional language of Kerala, India) in the late 40's and she passed away  before the age of 30 in the late 50's. I was broght into the world of blogging  by  3 wonderful friends, Antony Deign, Suryagayathry and  Vishwaprabha , through online.  They took  such pains to be online  and  step by step they  bought me into the world of blogging. I should be make special mention to  Jacob Paul Atto, who I met in the blog world and he, taught me the English blogging and  how to be in touch with absolute strangers who goes beyond any limits to  help you through your setting, comments, language and much  more to support your blog. I am more of a Poet, Columnist and  Journalist, but all this   versatile interest steered into from  writing blogs . It taught me ,showed me how to choose the subjects. Though I still considers myself to be an amateur in Journalism. I have miles to go before the  acclaimed honor reach me……………

  • If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?

I know, starting a blog can be confusing. 15 years ago, when I started my first blog, I knew absolutely nothing about blogging. ·     How do you build a community around a blog and social media?

I think blog in general feels like a community — that’s what draws so many readers, by language, country and by interest from  all around. We feel connected because of similar interests and experiences. I always want my readers to feel like they’re visiting a friend’s house when they come to www.spanageorge.com, so I try my best to make everyone feel welcome. I think social media is a great way to share a more personal side with my readers — I’m able to share random titbits' that I just don’t get to on the blog. I use Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest and use them all quite differently. I find Twitter is best for quick updates here and there throughout the day, Facebook is for more in depth discussions and Pinterest is helpful because I can see what readers and bloggers are love to read of mine and others. I suggest a wider social area to promote blog that is Google and StumbleUpon.
